Behind the camera

I studied photography in high school, albeit loosely. My focus was mainly on film processing and development, and if you were to track down my teacher, it would make for a strange tale.

I have always had a deep love for the ocean.

Despite suffering numerous surfing injuries, these experiences ultimately motivated me to pursue ocean photography. During my rehabilitation, when I was unable to surf for months, I picked up a camera again—this time a digital one—and soon after, I invested in a water housing.

I spent time at world-class surf breaks with picturesque backdrops, capturing many exceptional surfers, including those sponsored by top brands. My photographs have been taken at locations such as Mount Maunganui, Tairāwhiti Gisborne, Ohope, Whāingaroa Raglan, Byron Bay in New South Wales, and Noosa in Queensland.

I’m genuinely excited about capturing life’s beautiful moments! Beyond ocean and surfing photography, I love documenting families, couples, and businesses to highlight their unique stories and connections.

Who’s who

  • I am originally from the Waikato region and grew up in Mount Maunganui. I completed my education in Tāmaki Makaurau and Tauranga. After spending several years in Australia, I have returned to Aotearoa, excited to explore our backyard. My next chapter is embarking on a journey as a digital nomad to discover the diverse landscapes within our country and document my experiences throughout this endeavour.
